George Zaal
George Zaal has spent his working life in the insurance and agriculture industries. In April 1990 he established Longfellow’s – licensed insurance brokers covering general insurance. With industry-specific, customised policies such as the Longfellow’s Wine Industry Policy and the Longfellow’s Trades Pack, Longfellow’s grew to become a ‘boutique’ specialist insurance broker to the Australian wine industry.
At the same time George began developing Longfellow’s Wine Exports Pty Ltd, which was licensed by the Australian Wine and Brandy Corporation to export wine, supplying more than 15 countries around the globe. In 2007 Longfellow's Wine Exports Pty Ltd began exporting to China through distributors.
George has a passion for all aspects of the wine industry. He holds an Associate Diploma in Wine Marketing – University of Adelaide (Roseworthy Agriculture College) and has managed the family vineyard in the Benalla region of Victoria for over 20 years.
In April 2017, George personally purchased his own 34-acre vineyard in the Barossa Valley, South Australia. This vineyard produces high quality shiraz, mataro and grenache grapes.
